An SSL certificate encrypts what travels between your site and your visitor's browser: usernames, passwords, payment details. Without it, anyone along the way can read it.

You can tell right away: with a certificate, the address starts with HTTPS; without one, the browser shows “Not secure” right next to it. The green bar disappeared around 2019 and the colored padlock around 2021, but the warning stayed.

How you get your certificate.

From choosing a certificate to your site running on HTTPS, we handle every step.

Choose the type

DV for a business website, OV if you want your company name verified, EV for online commerce. We tell you which one suits you, so you don't pay more than you need.

We generate the request

We create the certificate request on your server, with the domain details and, for OV and EV, your company details. You don't have to dig through panels and command lines.

We validate and issue

For DV, only domain ownership is checked. For OV and EV, the company is checked too, with documents, by the authority issuing the certificate.

We install and check

We put the certificate on the server, switch the site to HTTPS and check that no insecure content is left on the pages. Then we keep track of it, so it doesn't expire.

What everyone wants to know before choosing a certificate.

What's the difference between DV, OV and EV?

DV only checks that the domain belongs to you and is the simplest and cheapest. OV also checks your company's identity. EV is the strictest: the company goes through extended verification, and its name appears in the certificate, where visitors can read it.

What does “Wildcard” mean?

A regular certificate covers your domain and the www version. A Wildcard certificate also covers all subdomains: shop.domain.com, blog.domain.com, mail.domain.com and as many as you have, without buying a separate certificate for each.

How long does a certificate last?

Our plans are for one year. We let you know before it expires and renew it, so your site never ends up showing visitors a warning. An expired certificate scares people more than having none. You can see the expiry date any time, from the padlock in the browser bar.

Do I need a certificate if I don't sell anything online?

Yes. Without a certificate, the browser shows “Not secure” right next to your site's address, and Google takes security into account in rankings. A business website without HTTPS loses visitors before it gets to say anything. And contact forms send data encrypted.

Do you install it?

Yes. We generate the request, install the certificate on the server and check that the site responds correctly over HTTPS. For sites hosted with us, installation costs nothing extra. If something isn't working right after installation, write to us and we'll check it, at no extra cost.

What is the free three-month certificate?

We give you three months of SSL for free, so your site is secured from day one. After that, you choose the plan that suits you, without any period when your site is left unprotected. It's a Let’s Encrypt certificate, with domain validation.
